Partitions in linux are shown typically as /dev/sdxn where n is the partition number. The GUI for Gparted -there's also a bootable stand alone version too - 100% free and seems reasonably Windows like BTW If a Windows disk is mounted partitions are listed similarly - dd in any case doesn't care two hoots about file systems either - just physically copies data in the same geometry as source file / disk. I too fell foul of the discontinuation of Partition copy and also, more importantly for me, Disc copy on Partition Wizard. I do my major backups of the operating system by producing a couple of clones of the operating system disc. In the event of a problem these drop straight in to the computer and we're back up and running.įortunately I had a non sanitised copy of my downloads folder on a backup disc which still had the Minitools PW 10.2 file. I've installed it a couple of times both for myself and friends.
